Get ready for picture overload...

It has been more than a week since I've updated.

Sam had this birthday party last weekend with his cousin Veronica (she turned 3). Sam and Veronica weren't so sure about the Happy Birthday song. They look scared!

Here is Veronica with her princess dress!

Here is Sam with his new tricycle...

And he played with his water table this past weekend. Most of the water ended up on his clothes and he changed clothes about 3 or 4 times that day.

Here are a few more pictures from the party. The first features Taylor, Madyson and Alliyah giving their best "smiles," a family shot (Lexi wanted to be in the picture, she's family) and Sam and all his cousins.

Sam has the microphone because he can't be heard over all those girls without it.

I'm adding one video. Sam was sitting at his new picnic table and starting putting his hands up and saying "up" and then putting them low and saying, "down." I thought it was cute.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Sam!

Sam is 2! Wow. He enjoyed his birthday at daycare. They celebrated by singing to him and he opened a present that we purchased. It was actually a gift for the class- two board books that Sam really likes. The books are Brown Bear, Brown Bear and Chicka Chicka ABC. The teacher sent me a picture (see on the right side of the screen). His friends are eagerly waiting their turn to look at the books.

Tonight we gave Sam some birthday cake. He really got into this time. He also asked us to sing "Happy Birthday" to him at least 5 or 6 times. He would start out saying, "happy" and then sign "please." And so that meant we had to sing to him!

He's been going to daycare this whole week. He is still a little unsure about his new surroundings and he's with all 2 year olds making him the youngest in his class. He does much better when daddy drops him off in the mornings as I found this morning when he got really upset when I left him. I usually pick him up after his nap and snack.

The picture to the right is from yesterday. Sam enjoyed painting at daycare so much that he brought some home on his shirt.
We are looking forward to a small family birthday party for Sam this weekend. We will also celebrate Sam's cousin's birthday on Saturday. She will be 3!

Chatterbox

Sam has been talking up a storm. I just went to put him down for his nap and I asked if he wanted to hear a story and he said, "story?" Not only did he say it but it actually sounded like story (most of the time he repeats a word and it doesn't sound anything like the word). Knowing this information will explain the video below. Sam loves to pretend to talk on the phone. He's been "talking on the phone" for about two months. This video is from this morning.

Sam has also learned to count. Will and I aren't sure when he picked this up but most of the time we have to say the odd numbers and he will say the even numbers.

Sam most enjoys watching the video and repeating what he says in the video. In this video, he likes to sit down at the end when he watches it (just like in the video). The reason he is yelling at the beginning of the video is because he wanted to watch more videos of himself on my camera.

We played outside a lot this week. Sam especially likes walking down to our retention pond. He brought along his bubbles.

This morning we had a "playdate" at his new daycare, Small Blessings. We both went and Sam able to get use to the room. I also told him that he would start coming to "school" next week when mommy goes back to work. He doesn't really get it but he does like playing with his new friends.

May is here!

The count down to Sam's birthday has begun. Only 13 more days until Sam is 2!

This week we made another trip to the zoo (we are loving our season pass). We decided to see the dolphin show since Sam really liked it the first time. He especially enjoys dancing to the music. He does a lot of pointing and oohing and ahhing. It's a lot of fun. He fell asleep on the way home but when we got home he woke up and wanted his snack. That's my boy!

We also played outside quite a bit. Here is a picture of Sam and Lexi playing in the front yard. Sam likes to help walk Lexi but we have to use 2 leashes just to make sure Lexi does take off running and drag Sam behind her.

Also I've included some pictures of our beautiful tree in our front yard. We love the white flowers that erupt in the spring. The true sign that spring has arrived.

Will mowed the lawn this week. It has been growing so fast since we've been getting so much rain. Sam loves watching Daddy mow the lawn (okay, Lexi likes to watch, too). He also likes to "help" with the weed eater.

We are looking forward to a great, relaxing weekend.
